2025 Sri Lanka University Games: University of Colombo clinch Women’s Basketball crown

The University of Colombo emerged victorious in the Women’s Basketball Championship at the 2025 Sri Lanka University Games, held at the Rajarata University grounds in Mihinthale.

Organised by the Sri Lanka University Sports Association (SLUSA), the tournament featured 16 university basketball teams from across the country.

In the final, the University of Colombo team defeated the University of Sabaragamuwa outfit to secure the championship title. 

Colombo had earned their spot in the final by overcoming the University of Jaffna 62-59 in the semifinals, while Sabaragamuwa advanced after defeating the University of Ruhuna 37-17.

Earlier, in the preliminary rounds, Colombo beat Moratuwa 43-22, Rajarata defeated Vavuniya 32-03, Jaffna overcame Ruhuna 37-18, and Sabaragamuwa bested Sri Jayawardenapura 25-20 to reach the semi-finals.
