A set of local politicos who had assumed office in a historic city under the present regime are said to be unhappy that ‘a family of brothers’ who handled the contracts for construction works and those for supplying raw materials for such projects  during the yahapalanaya days continue to handle these contracts.

These politicos who worked hard to end the yahapalanaya rule are said to be highly disappointed  because they had already planned to award these contracts to their own buddies as soon as coming back to power. In fact, they had even promised these buddies to ‘look after them ’ once in power.

However, the ‘old brothers’ continue to carry out the contracts like carpeting roads and supplying raw materials for construction work despite the regime change, they say.
