Two light aircraft belonging to a private company had to make two emergency landings within a matter of two weeks recently.

A person engaged in business activity both here and in the land of the Rising Sun is known to be the virtual owner of this private company. But the real virtual owner -  the one owning a majority stake in it is said to be another person!

This invisible owner, they say, is no lesser  person than a senior Diyawanna politico elected to successive councils ever since 1989. This person who had been a top team member in several governments in the past is a top team member even in the present regime.

As this politico wants to remain backstage, unknown, and unheard of, he has reportedly installed a young lady in the company to look after his interests.

This Diyawanna politico hailing from a distant district in the country is said to be a quiet person who does not create any problem in his party.

Despite his closeness to the powers that be, flight operations of his company  have now been suspended.
However, given his good relations with those who matter, the suspension imposed on flight operations is likely to be lifted shortly, some sources say.
