A silent tribute to an astute political leader from a peer!

The former Number One from Pulatisipura the other day had recalled the uncanny political acumen of the late JR while at a discussion with the Blue party’s Diyawanna group.

The former Number One who said that the late JR had mastered the political principles and strategies expounded by both Kautilya and Machiavelli had asked the participants whether they knew the political leader in our country who is employing the Machiavellian and Kautilyan political skills today.

“Who is the leader who has mastered the art of winning over the political opponents, promoting enmity among the political opponents and retaining the friends already made while opting to forget the past animosities,” he had asked.

This question posed to the group evoked smiles from everyone indicating that they knew whom he was referring to.

However, when none did want to give a reply, the former Number One mentioned the name of the shrewd leader who is making political maneuvers like the late JR today.

He added that even the late JR could not have matched the present leader’s political skills!

By the way, we wish to refrain from mentioning here the name of the leader with the unrivalled political acumen referred to by the former Number One as he is still in active politics in our country today.
