UNP hails Galle Chamber of Commerce for closing business establishments

The United National Party (UNP) yesterday hailed the decision by the Galle Chamber of Commerce to get its members to close its business establishments in the wake of COVID-19 which is spreading in the district. 
“We thank the Galle Chamber for this decision and it has set an example for the whole nation. This is a good decision in the wake of the government turning down the request for a lockdown made by many,” UNP Chairman Vajira Abeywardena said. 

“Many including our leader had explained the dangers of the pandemic but the government does not seem to be taking them into consideration,” he said.   Also, the UNP Chairman said the government should work towards getting down at least 15 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
