Two Sri Lankans awarded Yunnan Friendship Award in China

Lecturer Sugath Ratnayake of the Department of Sinhala Studies at Yunnan University and Professor Samantha Karunaratne of Qujing Normal University in China have been awarded the Yunnan Friendship Award.  

This is the first time that Sri Lankans have been awarded, and it is special that two Sri Lankans have received the Yunnan Provincial Friendship Award this time. 

This is an award given by the Yunnan Provincial Government to recognize foreign experts who have made invaluable contributions to the development of the Yunnan Province.
