Sri Lanka Tamil Women’s Union to honour distinguished women on Int’l Women’s Day

The Sri Lanka Tamil Women’s Union will celebrate International Women’s Day by honouring three distinguished women for their exceptional contributions on Saturday, 29th March 2025, at 9:30 AM. The event will take place at the Victorian Hall, Kingsbury, Colombo.   

The occasion will feature Sharanya Sekaram Ramola, Founder of Everystory Sri Lanka and Consultant for IPPF Gender Equality Policy Review, as the keynote speaker. In addition, the union will felicitate three outstanding women: Prof. Farzana Haniffa from the Department of Sociology at the University of Colombo, Menaka De Fonseka Sahabandu, Founder and Artistic Director of Menaka Singers Opera, and Ramola Sivasunderam, Chairman of The Polytechnic Pvt Ltd. and Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators, UK.  

A panel discussion titled “She the Portia: Women of Wit and Wisdom” will also take place, with Gowri Shanker Somasunderam as the moderator.
