School boy killed, 15 injured in bus-train collision

A 9-year-old school boy was killed and 15 injured after a passenger bus collided with a train at a railway crossing in Talaimannar yesterday afternoon, police said.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said at least 30 passengers were onboard the bus at the time of the accident and that 20 among them were students.

  
He said the injured were admitted to the Talaimannar and Mannar Hospitals, while the condition of two was critical. The spokesman said the driver and the conductor of the bus were taken into police custody.
