Racketeers raising funds for Sri  Dalada exposition

Malwatta and Asgiriya Maha Vihares requested the public not to fall prey to racketeers collecting money with the promise of providing facilities to devotees visiting Kandy to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic during its upcoming exposition.

Anunayaka of Malwatta Chapter Most. Ven. Dimbulkumbure Sri Wimaladhamma Thera said several individuals and organized groups are attempting to cheat the public and raise funds through social media channels under the pretext of providing facilities to the devotees .

He stressed that Sri Dalada Maligawa, the Kandy Municipal Council and several other government establishments have undertaken to provide all the facilities to the devotees and any individual or organization has not been permitted to raise money for it. The Ven, Thera requested the devotees not to fall a prey to the racketeers attempting to collect money from the public.

Senior Member of the Karaka Sangha Sabha of Asgiriya Chapter and Chief Incumbent of Rangiri Dambulu Rajamaha Vihara Ven. Godagama Mangala Thera said Sri Dalada Maligawa has taken steps to provide all facilities for the devotees during the exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic and several government institutions are making arrangements for the event.
