KMK Hosts annual Ifthar gathering

Kumpulan Melayu Kotikawatta: KMK (Kotikawatta Malay Association) held its Annual Ifthar on March 22 at the La Mirage Banquet Hall, Wellampitiya bringing together KMK members and esteemed invitees for a meaningful evening of reflection and unity. The event was graced by Deputy Speaker of Parliament of Sri Lanka, Dr. Rizvie Salih as the special guest.   

Speaking at the gathering, KMK President Naleef Kitchil expressed his joy in witnessing members and guests come together in the true spirit of Ramadan. “This gathering is a beautiful example of what Ramadan teaches us—that we are stronger when we come together, when we share, and when we support one another,” he said.   

He further emphasised the importance of giving, helping, and uplifting those in need—not just during Ramadan, but throughout the year. He concluded by extending his heartfelt wishes for a blessed Ramadan to all.   

Distribution of Certificates to children who excelled at the G. C. E. Ordinary Level and Advanced Level examination was also held at the event.
