Intense heat, rainfall forecast simultaneously for several areas

• Sun directly over Sri Lanka from April 5 to 14 this year
• Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Eastern Provinces during the morning

While several parts of the island are expected to experience heavy rainfall of about 75mm today, the sun is also currently passing directly overhead in several areas.

According to the Department of Meteorology, heavy rainfall of about 75 mm is likely at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Eastern and Southern Provinces.

Further, misty conditions can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Eastern Provinces during the morning.

On the other hand, the sun is going to be directly over areas like Uyangalla, Arangala, Kongahawela, Moragahakanda and Batticaloa at about 12:12 today.
According to the Department, the sun will be directly over Sri Lanka from April 5 to 14 this year.
