Indian student drowns

One of the Indian university students staying at a lodge in Menikhinna in Kundasale had accidentally fallen into the swimming pool and received serious head injuries when his head struck against the wall of the swimming pool and died on admission at a private hospital in Kandy.   
The victim identified as Santhosha (26) was in a group of nine university students staying in the lodge.   
Police said they had been enjoying themselves in the swimming pool in the early hours of last morning and that they had consumed liquor excessively.   
Menikhinna police are conducting further investigations.
