Aussie tourist injured while taking selfie

A young Australian tourist travelling by Badulla bound Odyssey Express from Colombo Fort on Monday evening (31) received serious injuries when she struck her head against an iron post by the railway line between Nanuoya and Ambewela railway station in her attempt to take a selfie from the footboard. 
She was admitted to Nuwara Eliya General Hospital. The 27 year-old Australian tourist, on a visit to Sri Lanka. met with the accident on her way to Ella. Railway officials said she had struck her head against the iron post and fallen off the train. A spokesman for the hospital said she was in critical condition.   
Haputale Police are conducting further investigations.
