Accident on Kelani Valley line

A Prado traversing the railway level crossing at Liyanwilla in Pannipitiya hit a moving train at about 7.30 am yesterday. causing injuries to the driver.   
The engine of the train had been damaged and it resulted in cancelling the journey. Police investigating the incident said the gateman on duty has been absent at the time of the accident and that the gate had not been closed for traffic.   
The injured were admitted to Padukka Hospital. Padukka Police are conducting further investigations.
