Stafford International School Holds Successful Interhouse Athletics Event

On Thursday, November 6, 2025, Stafford International School in Colombo 07 hosted its annual Interhouse Athletics Meet despite overcast weather. The event took place at the NCC grounds and featured participation from the school’s four houses: Felix, Kalan, Noreen, and Ruby. Felix House emerging as the overall winner this year.

Preliminary events such as the high jump, long jump, shot put, and javelin were held last week. The final day saw track races, including the 60m, 80m, 100m, and relay races. As the starting gun sounded, athletes lined up and raced past cheering spectators, with the house tents in bright, decorative figures adding to the festive atmosphere. 

A notable feature of the event was the house drill displays, which drew considerable attention. Each house showcased dance routines, acrobatics, and cheerleading performances, heightened by energetic music and synchronized choreography. 

Ruby House was awarded the top prize for their drill presentation. Additionally, Felix House received recognition for house spirit, decorations, and march past, while Kalan was acknowledged for attendance, behavior, and cleanliness. In individual competitions, Kaya Perera from Ruby was named Under-20 Girls Champion. In the boys’ category, Sukitha Fernando from Kalan and Abdurrahman Aslam from Ruby were named joint champions. The overall Best Athlete award went to Adnan Ameen of Kalan. The final results saw Felix House in first place with 667.5 points, followed by Kalan, Ruby, and Noreen.
