“Dear Mahesh,”
As the Lord Buddha preached in Maha Mangala Sutta in the stanza about “Matha Pithu Upathana, ” taking care about parents when they become old and sick,  I wish to thank and bless my child Mahesh with a garland of flowers for the gratitude offered to me since your childhood up to December 5th of 2024.
I hope that you all will offer merits to my son who passed away an year ago leaving me forever. The purpose of my writing his biography is to console my sorrow and bring solace to my grieving mind. Graduating as an Accountant, my gracious Mahesh started a pharmaceutical business and was extremely successful with his father Mr. Uduwella’s career. His morality pleasing complexion humble qualities  attracted customers,  and you had a leading businessman’s character. Your contribution to all of us was immeasurable. Now you are No More. My heart is aching and hot tears support me to live purposely to gain merits for all the support, given to all our families.
My great hero son! As I have done a lot of meritorious acts in my previous births, I was able to become your ever-loving Mommy. Mahesh organised easy ways to supply medicines fast and efficiently during the periods of Corona and Covid when hundreds of people were standing in the queue for long hours.
My hero intelligently settled the difficulty and medicines were distributed to the people in an excellent way. He was very patient in solving  the difficulty. Many people have said that Mahesh has done it not for a commercial profit, but as a meritorious act. Mahesh’s younger brother Jaliya (who is a Superintendent of Physiotherapy at Lady Ridgeway Hospital Colombo) encouraged me to publish my memories as it’s a great consolation and a way for me to reduce my grief. Mahesh’s death was a shock to my youngest son Prasanna (quantity surveyor). All  three are very friendly. They are still grieving as  he was the Tower of Strength to the three families.
My dear son Mahesh has given medicines free to many underprivileged patients who patronise the pharmacy. He was a real Buddhist. He often went to the temple and spoke to the Venerable Anuruddha Thero (the chief of the Sangha). At present his daughter (pharmacist/lawyer) and his son (pharmacist/lawyer) are carrying on the business decently. Due to the merits he gained, may my beloved dearest Mahesh attain Nibbana in an early birth by understanding  the Four Noble Truths during the reign of Lord Gautama Buddha. Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!
