Carrying sacred relic casket during Navam Perahera

The Colombo Gangaramaya Temple’s annual Navam Perahera paraded the streets on February 11 and 12. A large gathering including both locals and foreigners witnessed the colourful events and the conducting of traditional Buddhist rituals that complemented the event. Here in the picture is Ven. Shi Zhidu chief of Ce’en Temple in Zhejiang, China carrying the sacred relic casket on the invitation of Rev. Dr Assaji, Chief Monk of Gangarama Temple, Colombo
