Silver Jubilee The Russian School of Ballet and Dancing Russian House in Colombo

The Russian School of Ballet and Dancing at the Russian House in Colombo recently marked its Silver Jubilee, celebrating 25 years of preserving and promoting the traditions of Russian ballet and folk dance. A special ceremony honoured 20 dancers for their outstanding achievements at the Russian Classical Ballet Examination, with each receiving a ballerina-shaped statuette symbolising dedication and artistry.

The evening featured captivating performances by students and instructors, reflecting the school’s continued excellence. Director Maria Popova commended the teachers for their commitment, while long-serving Cultural Officer Chandi Aluvihare was recognised for her 25 years of dedicated service, making the event a memorable celebration of art and achievement.
