A future Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) government will go for a new agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) , Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa said yesterday.  “A future SJB government will re-negotiate with IMF and will get into a new agreement with IMF,” Mr. Premadasa told a SJB May Day rally.

“The SJB only wanted the government to seek IMF assistance. However, we did not want the government to accept every condition the IMF would put forward,” he said.
He also said the SJB will launch a revolution to remove the present government from power. “We will form a new government soon and will start rebuilding the nation immediately. Cannot afford to wait till 2048 to create a developed nation,” he also added.

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) National Organizer Tissa Attanayake and MP Harshana Rajakaruna said there will be a Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) led government by the time Sri Lanka commemorates May Day next year. “It is time we started working with the objective of forming an SJB led government by May Day 2024. Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa will lead the country by then,” Mr. Attanayake said.

SJB Chairman Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka said people of this country should be prepared for another revolution.
