Sajith declines PM post in interim govt.

Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa will not accept the Prime Minister’s post in an interim government, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) National Organizer Tissa Attanayake said yesterday.. 

“ Mr. Premadasa will not accept premiership of an interim government but SJB will give conditional support for an interim government,” Attanayake told DailyMirror.   

“ We will only support an interim government which will carry out proposals made by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka,” he added.   

The Bar Association has proposed setting up of an interim government with a new Prime Minister and abolishing of executive presidency during a stipulated time frame.
