SJB lauds new regulations of social media

• The SJB members have been victims of false publicity
• MP Earn Wickramaratne was falsely accused of giving financial assistance to Zahran’s wife

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) welcomes new regulation of social media, MP Talatha Atjukorala told Parliament yesterday.   

“ We welcome brining in laws to control social media as those in the SJB have been victims of false publicity,” Ms. Atjukorala said.  “ MP Earn Wickramaratne was falsely accused of giving financial assistance to Zahran’s wife some time ago. Therefore we too feel that certain regulations should be brought in to prevent false publicity over social media. However those in the present government have also engaged in using social media to attack their opponents,” she added.
