Prez has not learned anything from the past: Ven.Sobitha Thera

• Those who stole national wealth should be brought to justice and corrupt individuals should not be appointed as ministers

The current president, Ranil Wickremesinghe, was appointed to the post due to the Aragalaya and it appears that he has not learned anything from the past, Ven. Dr. Omalpe Sobitha Thera said.  

Addressing the media yesterday, he emphasized that those who stole national wealth should be brought to justice and that corrupt individuals should not be appointed as ministers.  

Instead of implementing new procedures, the President is seen continuing with old practices. 

He appears to be continuing with the same selfish and inhumane political agenda with the support of his old ministers, cronies and relatives. Therefore, we strongly advise him to put a stop to old practices, arrest those responsible of theft, and recover the country’s national wealth from those who have been stealing, he said.
