Over 300 vaccinated Policemen infected with COVID-19

• Vaccinations can prevent a severe form of the virus as well as deaths, it cannot, however, prevent people from contracting  COVID-19
• Over 5 million people above the age of 30 years have been inoculated with the first dose

Over 300 policemen have been infected with COVID-19, weeks after both doses of vaccines had been administered on them, the Daily Mirror learns from informed sources. The Police Department has sent a letter to the health experts, raising concerns over the situation, but have mentioned that none of the infected policemen are suffering from severe symptoms of the virus. 

Health officials have in turn informed the Police department, that while vaccinations can prevent a severe form of the virus as well as deaths, it cannot, however, prevent people from contracting  COVID-19.The infected policemen are being treated in respective centres. The islandwide vaccination programme is ongoing in full swing with over 5 million people above the age of 30 years being inoculated with the first doses. Health officials have said that vaccinations were a necessity in order to prevent havoc caused by the rapidly spreading Delta variant. Health experts have said that while the vaccinations will not prevent one from being infected with the COVID-19 virus it will however prevent the fully vaccinated patient from developing a severe form of the virus as well as dying from the virus. Nearly 300,000 inoculations are ongoing per day.
