Two young women carried away by a wave at Kirinda Beach

• The victims from Seenigoda in Bibile were about 18 years  of age
• They with several other relatives had been on a picnic to Kirinda

Two young women enjoying a stroll along the sea beach at Kirinda had been carried away by a trembling wave. Police said the body of one of the disappeared women was recovered in a short while.  

The victims Sandani Dhananjaya Rajapakse from Welipottayaya in Bibile and Probodhika Kaushalaya from Seenigoda in Bibile were about 18 years of age and the former was a married woman.   

They with several other relatives had been on a picnic to Kirinda. 

 
Police had launched a search for the other disappeared woman.   
Kirinda police are conducting further investigations on the instructions of SSP Tangalle Division
