Tusker Wasana at the Final Randoli Perahera

The Final Randoli Perahera of the historic Kandy Esala Perahera was held last night.  

The tusker Wasana of the Ruhunu Kataragama Devalaya who was the attraction at yesterday’s event paraded the streets of the Kandy city carrying the sacred golden casket, flanked by another two tuskers - Sinharaja of the Sri Dalada Maligawa and Pulasthiraja.  

Here the ceremonial casket bearer Wasana leaving Sri Dalada Maligawa at 6.51 pm - the assigned auspicious time, stepping on the ‘Sandagala’ for the commencement of the street parade.
