Senior Grama Niladhari arrested for alleged sexual abuse of female colleague

A senior Grama Niladhari of Kalpitiya Divisional  Secretariat was arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing a female Grama  Niladhari of the area.  The victim has stated to police that she first made a  complaint to the Divisional Secretary, but he failed to take any action  to her satisfaction.   

She stated that the suspect who called over at her house  when she was all alone under the pretext of taking over the tablet computer  issued to her for duties relating to the ongoing population census  since she had been removed from those duties.   

She further stated that the suspect accused her of  neglecting duties and caught her by hand and that she submitted her resignation from the post due to the pain of mind caused by the  incident.   
A senior police officer said the suspect was to be produced in court yesterday.
