Sajith says authorities will be compelled to hold local polls

One must not get deceived by media reports to find out about whether the local government elections would be held, as it will be certainly held, Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa said yesterday.   

 Speaking at a public meeting in Galle he said the authorities will be compelled to hold the local poll.   

“ One must not be deceived by media reports. The Media will publish reports saying local government polls will be postponed. Later another report will say election will be held. 
Therefore I request the people to ignore media,” Premadasa said.   

“ We will get the authorities to hold the local polls somehow. We will fight in the streets for it peacefully,” he said.   

“ SJB will continue its election campaign,” he added.
