Principal arrested for assaulting two students, develops heart trouble in police cell

A principal of a school in the Hidogama area of the Anuradhapura district had been arrested on suspicion of his alleged assault on two underage students causing them serious injuries, Police said the two 15 year old boys were Grade nine students of the school who had been beaten by the Principal for not having a hair cut. The two students bleeding from the mouth were admitted to the Anuradhapura teaching hospital.   

Meanwhile, the principal in custody who developed a heart ailment was admitted to hospital. OIC Hidogama police Inspector of Police Ajith Senanayake is conducting further investigations.
