One in a group of five individuals who entered Metihakka forest reserve in Riverton in Laggala had fallen down a boulder and died.

The victim M.G.Jayasinghe Bandara (55) was a resident of Hattotamuna area.

The rest of the group told police that they were going in search of a medicinal plant called Binkohomba when one of them fell down the boulder. However the police arrested the four men who had in their possession an unlicensed 12 bore shot gun of a foreign make.

Police said it was in suspicion whether the five men had been going in search of a medicinal plant or on hunting.
The suspects were to be produced before Laggla magistrate last morning.
