Jaffna District MP S. Sridharan who was elected as leader  of the  Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) first visited Kanakapuram cemetery  yesterday and commemorated the deceased LTTE cadres.

Mr. Sridharan who succeeded Mr. R. Sampanthan as the party  leader is a die-hard apologist of the LTTE.

Also, he is the brother-in-law of LTTE northern commander Theepan who got killed in battles with  the military towards the tail end of the war in 2009.

He had been elected as ITAK leader by majority vote at the  party convention held in Trincomalee. It was of significance that he  commemorated the late LTTE cadres soon after being elected as ITAK  leader.
Later, he attended religious observances at Kilinochchi Vinayagar Kovil and met the people and the party sympathizers.
