Police found a handwritten note in the victim’s possession

A 30-year-old man jumped from the ITC Ratnadipa Luxury Hotel near Galle Face Green after leaving a suicide note, the police said. 

The incident occurred last afternoon. The victim jumped from Room 16 on the 31st floor of the hotel.   

As soon as the incident was reported, the police launched an investigation.   

The deceased has been identified as a resident of the Henwala area in Kundasale.   

Police found a handwritten note in the victim’s possession.

The Colombo Fort Police are conducting further investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.   

Police information also revealed that the victim had not made any room reservation but had freely accessed Room 16 on the 31st floor.
