Kap Planting ritual of the Kataragama Maha Devala is scheduled to be held tomorrow morning

Kap Planting ritual of the  Ruhunu Kataragama Maha Devala is scheduled to be held tomorrow morning (24) at the Devala premises.  

Basnayake Nilame of the Maha Devala Dishan Wickremaratne Gunasekara said the Esala festival would commence on July 06 and end on July 22 after the water cutting ceremony followed by the final Randoli Procession on the night of July 21.. Fire walking ceremony will be July 18 .   

A preliminary meeting to take up the organizational activities of the festival will be held on May 28, at Kirivehera Rajamaha Vihara under the chairmanship of Chief Incumbent of the temple Ven. Kobawaka Damminna Thera.   

Monaragala District Secretary and Officer In Charge of Camping Pasan Ratnayake and senior officials of government institutions including the police will participate.
