Kap Planting ceremony of the Ruhunu Kataragama Maha Devala Esala festival on 24th

The Kap Planting ceremony of the Ruhunu Kataragama Maha Devala Esala festival is scheduled to take place on May 24 morning, the day following the Wesak full moon Poya day.  

Basnayake Nilame Dishan Gunasekara said the Esala festival would commence on July 05 , after 45 days of the Kap Planting ceremony.   

Monaragala District Secretary will hold three meetings of government and private sector officials including police and security force personnel and instruct them on organizing the ceremony.
