Inclement weather forces flight diversions

In view of the inclement weather experienced in the surrounding area of the Bandaranaike International Airport, several flights were diverted to Mattala International Airport and southern Indian airports yesterday.

Duty officer of the Katunayake International Airport said two flights from Doha in Qatar, two from Sharjah, and two flights from Abu Dhabi and Kuwait were diverted to the Mattala International Airport in the southern part of Sri Lanka .   

He said another three flights arriving from New Delhi, Chennai and Dubai were directed to Cochin and Trivandrum airports in southern India.
