Deshabandu’s wife files complaint over unauthorized house search

• Says the individuals who identified themselves as CID officers conducted the search forcibly, without any such warrant 

The wife of suspended IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon has filed a complaint yesterday (18) with the Athurugiriya Police, alleging that a group claiming to be from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) conducted a search at their residence in Hokandara East, Athurugiriya, without a valid search warrant.

According to the complaint, when the group arrived at the house and announced their intention to search, she requested to see a court-approved search warrant. However, the individuals who identified themselves as CID officers conducted the search forcibly, without any such warrant, she said.
