15-foot Croc captured and handed over to DWC

• The crocodile was 15ft. long and weighing more than 1000 kilos

A huge crocodile which had crawled into  a village in Matara was captured and handed over to the wildlife conservators by villagers. Residents of Piladuwa said that the reptile had been captured with great difficulty.  

They said they were living in constant fear of crocodiles from the Nilwala river crawling into home gardens via the nearby canal.   

Wildlife conservators said the crocodile was 15ft. long and weighing more than 1000 kilos. They said it would be released back to the Nilwala river in another area.
