Aravinda, Sanga in five-member panel to implement cricket report

Former Sri Lanka Cricket chairman and respected administrator Hemaka Amarasuriya will head a five-member committee to implement a report that was drafted on the recommendations made at a gathering of several leading individuals associated with the sport two weeks ago at Water’s Edge.

The committee also includes in former skippers in Anura Tennakoon, Aravinda de Silva and Kumar Sangakkara and head of the Sports Medicine Unit Dr. Lakshman Edirisingha who will work with Sri Lanka Cricket to implement the recommended changes.

Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera said he has also invited Mahela Jayawardena to join the panel. Jayawardena who is pursuing a career in coaching after his retirement is yet to give his consent.
