The Vatican Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Brian Udaigwe, visited the Foreign Affairs Ministry today to meet Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and TourismMinister Vijitha Herath. This meeting took place before the Ambassador leaves the country at the end of his term.
Ambassador Udaigwe, who started his work in Sri Lanka in 2020, said his time in the country was filled with unforgettable moments. He shared that Sri Lanka will always stay in his memory as a very beautiful country.
The Ambassador also thanked Minister Vijitha Herath for attending the funeral of His Holiness Pope Francis at the Vatican on behalf of the Sri Lankan government.
Minister Herath thanked Ambassador Udaigwe for his service and said the Vatican has always been a good friend to Sri Lanka. He expressed the government’s appreciation for the Vatican’s support.
Finally, the Minister wished Ambassador Udaigwe every success in his new role as the Vatican Ambassador to Ethiopia.
