Colombo, August 17 (Daily Mirror) - The Society of Companion Animal Practitioners Sri Lanka (SCAP-SL) successfully held its Annual General Meeting and Convention 2025 last week at Cinnamon Grand, Colombo.
The gathering brought together companion animal practitioners registered under the Sri Lanka Veterinary Council, animal hospital owners, veterinary students from the University of Peradeniya and key industry stakeholders.
The Chief Guest of the event was Deputy Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Hansaka Vijayamuni, whilst Additional Secretary Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Dr. Palika Fernando and Director-General Department of Animal Production and Health Dr. Hemali Kothalawala graced the occasion as special guests.
Internationally recognized rabies expert and former WHO Technical Officer Dr. Eric Brum made the keynote address. Among the key highlights during the convention was the official launching of the National Rabies Eradication Proposed Plan by SCAP-SL developed by its SCAP-SL Rabies Cell. Pix by Samantha Perera
