Marriage Market launches in Colombo

A brand-new wedding planning platform called Marriage Market was launched in Colombo with a grand celebration, introducing a simple way for couples to plan weddings in beautiful locations around the world.

The launch took place at The Orchid Garden, Waters Edge, with a star-filled event attended by top names in the wedding, travel, and media industries. The night featured live music, fireworks, a champagne tower, and a stylish dinner.

Marriage Market helps couples connect with the best wedding suppliers, luxury venues, and unique experiences in top destinations such as Sri Lanka, Malta, and Seychelles. Already, more than 650 international suppliers have joined the platform, including well-known hotel brands like Kempinski, Waldorf Astoria, and Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts.

One of the main attractions at the event was a raffle draw with amazing prizes. Rashmal Herath from Jetwing Hotels won the top prize a four-night stay at Conrad Bali, while Stephi Wimalasinghe won a holiday at Eraeliya Villas. An online raffle also gave away hotel stays to people around the world, including stays at Hilton Malta, Teardrop Hotels, Resplendent Ceylon, and Laila Seychelles.

The evening included a live performance by 1980s music star Bernita Bull, and was attended by Sri Lankan celebrities like Stephanie Siriwardena, Dushyanth Weeraman, and Druvi Gunasekara.

The event was supported by Sri Lanka Tourism, with ministry officials Tharindri Ranaweera and Nithini Senanayake present, showing Sri Lanka’s growing reputation as a top wedding destination.

Marriage Market was started by Dominika and Dominic Bull, who want to make planning destination weddings easier and more personal. “We’re here to help couples plan weddings that are meaningful and stress-free,” said CEO Dominika Bull.

Couples can now visit www.marriage.market to find wedding suppliers and venues. Wedding professionals can also join the platform by signing up through the "Business" section of the website.
