Maj. Gen. Yahampath assumes Army Deputy Chief of Staff role

Major General Y.A.B.M. Yahampath of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry has assumed duties as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army-the third most senior appointment in the Army-at Army Headquarters.

The formal ceremony, held at the Deputy Chief of Staff’s office, included the signing of official documents and religious observances to invoke blessings for his new role.
Major General Yahampath brings extensive experience, having previously served as Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna and Central), Deputy Commander, Security Forces (West), and General Officer Commanding of the 52 Infantry Division. His leadership in these roles has demonstrated his strategic expertise and professional excellence.
