International observers meet media

Several representatives from an international observer group met with the local media to discuss their role in overseeing Sri Lanka’s upcoming general elections scheduled for November 14. A media briefing was held this morning at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo. The group, consisting of representatives from India, Bangladesh, the Maldives and the Netherlands, expressed optimism that the elections will proceed peacefully, similar to the Presidential election held in September.
