Brutal storms which caused deadly flooding across eastern Spain last week have now dumped water on Barcelona, with flash floods submerging the city's main airport and closing motorways.

The country's weather service has issued a red alert for rain along the Barcelona coast, warning of 'extreme danger' and telling people to stay alert and not travel 'unless strictly necessary'. (Daily Mail)
