Uga Resorts’ boutique property Uga Halloowella has been recognised as one of the best hotels in Asia, ranking fifth in the ‘Rest of Asia’ category at the 2025 Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards.

The awards are based entirely on reader votes, reflecting the preferences of international travellers.

“It is a true honour to have been recognised as one of the best hotels in Asia. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all those votes that made this possible. This achievement emphasises the passion of our team and the love our guests have shown us. We remain committed to creating extraordinary experiences that are inspired by the beauty and heritage of Sri Lanka’s hill country,” said Uga Resorts Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing Marcelline Paul.

Uga Halloowella is located in Hatton, overlooking the Castlereagh Reservoir. The hotel is a restored 19th-century British-era bungalow that was once owned by Major Elton Lane. It features six suites blending colonial architecture with contemporary luxury.

Amenities include an infinity pool, bespoke dining options, and access to the Pekoe Trail through surrounding tea plantations. The property also incorporates sustainability principles in its operations, reflecting Uga Resorts’ focus on heritage, nature, and luxury.
