Chairman of Canary Wharf Holdings Pte Ltd, Sharhan Musheen signing the Memorandum of Understanding with Xiong Hongfeng, ManagingDirector of CHEC Port CityColombo (Pvt)Ltd
A consortium led by Singapore-based Canary Wharf Holdings Pte Ltd is to develop a new office tower in Port City Colombo, adding to the pipeline of commercial real estate projects planned for the reclaimed business district.
The 34-storey Colombo Gateway Tower One will include 28 floors of office space with a total area of 28,000 square metres, along with retail and leisure facilities, the consortium said. Construction at Plot 01-01-04 is scheduled to start in May 2026 and finish in June 2029.
The project is promoted by Platinum Advisors Pte Ltd, whose development arm is Canary Wharf Holdings. The tower will offer views of the Marina and the city and is planned to include smart-office features and modern amenities.
Developers said the building is expected to meet demand for Grade-A space in Port City and provide a permanent base for Authorised Persons operating in the zone, many of whom currently work from temporary locations outside the area.
