Regus Sri Lanka recently conducted a community event that is focused on the small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Sri Lanka.
The event, held under the theme ‘Understanding the local tax law for SMEs’, was conducted at the Regus Business Centre located at the World Trade Centre in Colombo, the premier business address in town. A total of 17 SMEs from several industries including food and beverage, mobile app development, e-commerce, digital services, consultancy, apparel, hospitality and tourism and financial services and logistics participated in the event.
The event provided support to entrepreneurs and SMEs looking to kick-start and or expand their businesses. The keynote address and presentation were delivered by renowned expert in the field of tax consultancy, Javed Mansoor of P & I Services, who is also a Regus client.
During the event, Regus Sri Lanka also highlighted the various types of innovative, affordable services that the SMEs can avail themselves to by coming to Regus. These include meeting rooms, co-working spaces, collaborative spaces, virtual offices and drop-in lounges. In Sri Lanka, Regus offices are available in prime locations in Colombo and immediate suburbs.
Speaking about the event, Regus Sri Lanka Country Manager Dr. Nirmal De Silva stated, “Regus is committed to helping our customers both current and potential to explore their true prospects. Our business is focused on making our customers gain more success. Hence, community networking is an exciting new initiative that creates the platform for customers to learn, network and collaborate with each other. We see such networking events as an important part of helping SME start-ups and entrepreneurships to reach their true potential.”
One of the participants at the session provided their views and cited, “It is great that such networking events are organised by Regus. We definitely interacted and learned a lot amongst similarly likeminded professionals at an event of this calibre.”
As with any business venture, SMEs also definitely have requirements for office space but now the good news is that individuals need not feel restricted to the traditional, costly offices that are being generally utilized. Through Regus’ flexible workspaces, anyone irrespective of size or nature of industry can easily access a wide variety of conveniently-located workspaces based on requirement and budget.
