The re-connection for the continuity of electricity supply will see a downward revision, Power and Energy Minister said.
The government has issued instructions to relevant departments to reassess the fee for re-connection following a power disconnection due to non-settling of bills.
Wijesekera said the current re-connection fee, set at Rs. 3000, will be revised to a range between Rs. 1000 and Rs.2000.
“This adjustment is aimed at ensuring a more reasonable and accessible re-connection process for consumers, aligning with the government’s commitment to enhancing customer satisfaction and service affordability in the electricity sector,” he added.
