Top professional Ranil De Silva has tendered resignation from the board of the Serendib Hotels PLC as its Managing Director with effect from August 31, a stock exchange filing by the Company Secretaries said.
De Silva was appointed as the Managing Director of Serendib Hotels PLC, the leisure arm of the diversified Hemas group, in 2010.
He has also resigned from the boards of Dolphin Hotels PLC and Hotel Sigiriya PLC, which are subsidiaries of Serendib Hotels PLC.
He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK, Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK. He began his career at Ernst & Young and has worked overseas with a multi-national company for 10 years. De Silva has wide experience locally in diverse industries.
Having previously held the position of Group CEO of the DCSL Group, he is also an Independent Director of Singer Sri Lanka PLC, Singer Industries PLC and Regnis Lanka PLC.
De Silva is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Tourist Hotels Association of Sri Lanka.
