Prof. Kasun De Zoysa appointed to LB Finance board

LB Finance PLC announced the appointment of Prof.   Kasun De Zoysa to its board of directors, with effect from October 29, 2025, following the approval granted by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

Prof. De Zoysa, a distinguished academic and cybersecurity expert, brings with him over two decades of experience in information system security, digital transformation and technological innovation. He is expected to provide strategic leadership to LB Finance in strengthening its digital infrastructure, cybersecurity framework and systems development initiatives, while guiding the company’s ongoing journey of innovation and digital excellence.

Currently serving as a Professor in Computer Science and Deputy Director at the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC), Prof. De Zoysa also holds several other key positions including Director of the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team, Head of the Department of Communication and Media Technologies and Coordinator of the Centre for Digital Forensic at UCSC. A First-Class Honours graduate in Computer Science from the University of Colombo, Prof. De Zoysa obtained his Ph.D. in Information System Security from Stockholm University, Sweden. 

His academic contributions extend globally, having served as a Visiting Research Fellow at prestigious institutions such as Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), University of Strathclyde (UK) and The Australian National University (Australia).

Prof. De Zoysa’s extensive research and consultancy work include collaborations with international bodies and leading financial institutions in the areas of cybersecurity, blockchain technology, AI security, digital forensics and quantum computing. He has authored over 160 research publications, contributing significantly to the advancement of secure digital ecosystems both locally and internationally.
