Mangala meets Ronnie

Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera called on former Finance Minister Ronnie de Mel, yesterday.

The meeting took place at the Colombo residence of de Mel. Former Southern Province Chief Minister H.G. Sirisena was also present at the meeting. 

“de Mel was the man who spearheaded the open economy in 1977 and still remains an inspiration to me, as we continue the liberalisation of the economy from where he stopped,” 
Samaraweera said.
